Sewing machineStep 1: Cut two 29″ x 19″ rectangles out of the main cotton fabric and one 29″ x 19″ rectangle out of the lining fabric. These will be the front, back, and bottom panels of your bag respectively.
Step 2: Fold each panel in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Then open up each panel and fold each long side in to meet the center crease. Press again.
You should now have four 13.5″ x 19″ rectangles.

This will be the bottom panel of your bag.. Open up this tube so that it is flat again and find the creased center line you just created running down the middle of this panel.. Measure 4 ½ “to either side of this creased line and mark at these points (you will have 9” between these marks). Pin at these marks and sew along each pinned line with a ½ “seam allowance.. You have just created pockets on either side of this bottom panel! Press seams open.. Now refold this bottom panel along original crease line and press well.. Top stitch close to both raw edges if desired for extra stability.. Set aside for later.. At this point you should have three sewn pieces…two long tubes(the front and back panels) and one shorter tube (the bottom panel) all with pressed seams.. Next we are going to create casing for our drawstring closure by sewing channels around top raw edges of both front/back panels as follows: Starting at one end , sew close to raw edge with a 3/8 “seam allowance leaving an opening large enough to insert your hand inside casing (approx 4″).
